2018 Edwardsville Police Youth Academy

This summer, the Edwardsville Police Department will be hosting its 21st Annual Youth Academy, Session 18-21. The academy is a unique and exciting program that has been developed to provide young women and men, ages 12 through 16 (minimum age 12 to the maximum age of 16), with positive summer activities that are fun, challeYouthAcademy-Logonging and informative.

The Youth Academy is two weeks long academy that will begin on Monday, June 4th, and run through Friday, June 15th, 2018 (Excluding Saturday and Sunday) 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary's School Gymnasium located at 1802 Madison Avenue in Edwardsville, Illinois. There will be a Graduation Banquet on Friday, June 15th at 6:30 p.m. for those participants who successfully complete the two week challenge as well as their parents, and family. Classes will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. every morning with dismissal around 4:00 p.m. Each participant should anticipate bringing a sack lunch with preferred drink each day. In order to successfully complete the academy, participants are expected to be responsible for daily attendance.

Unlike a typical summer camp, the Youth Academy is an intense two week long leadership academy and daily ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY upon being enrolled. IF A SCHEDULING CONFLICT EXISTS (vacation, camps, etc.) an individual should NOT consider enrollment as the academy enrollees/participants must work together in TEAM units and partial attendance would be counter-productive based upon the large amount of time, funding, and work invested into each and every individual towards their successful completion of the academy as a TEAM. PRIOR CONDUCT WILL BE A CONSIDERATION FOR ADMISSION TO THIS PROGRAM.
